Night Guards
An occlusal guard, often referred to as a night guard, is a removable appliance custom made by our office to fit over your upper or lower teeth. This appliance provides protection from clenching and grinding. The guard not only protects your teeth, but it can also help alleviate jaw pain associated with bruxism (clenching and grinding). In addition to alleviating jaw pain, an occlusal guard can help improve other symptoms related to bruxism including headaches and neck pain. It also helps prevent tooth fractures and wear which would otherwise lead to sensitivity. Dr. Canal can help you decide if you would benefit from an occlusal guard.
